The NMS has been in operation for approximately 40 years and was initially founded by the Brash Corporation in the early 1970's. Since that time, the school has accommodated an average of 400 students per week making it considerably one of the largest teaching privatizations throughout Victoria and Australia.

National Music School specialises in the art of teaching Singing and a variety of instruments ranging from Classical/ Contemporary Piano, Guitar (all styles) as well as Keyboard. All our lessons are strictly private to ensure true success. We also encourage "Theory & Musicianship" whereby our students are trained to develop the necessary aural & writing skills required to reach an intermediate standard of musical arrangement & composition.

In 1994, singing was first introduced to National Music School, which proved to be ever popular amongst students young and old. Our vocal lessons offer training in a range of styles and techniques deriving from the classical period through to a more contemporary form such as jazz, pop, musicals & R&B. These lessons are designed to enable students in developing a series of abilities ranging from vocal production to a capella and harmonisation, including preparation for radio, theatre & television.

Recording sessions on CD format are available to all vocal students.
