Earliest Beginner - Step 1 - Guitar

This is the first book of a series of three tutors which teaches the most important fundamentals of note reading and counting through a comprehensive system.

Step 1 offers the guitar student an opportunity to learn note reading and counting at a preparatory level and slowly introduces the student to recognition of notes via notation and tab using only the first and second strings of the guitar. This book focuses on good note reading as well as counting at the earliest levels and introduces the learner to note values such as semibreves, minims, dotted minims, crotchets and quavers. The simple time signatures are also introduced tgether with various basic keys and accidentals. These tutors come in vibrant colour and are all accompanied by a back up track CD which also demonstrates the performance for the student in order to get the appropriate feel before playing in an ensemble.

Step 1 is loaded with popular tunes including Largo, Old Mc Donald, Lightly Row, Skip to My Loo, Mary Had a Little Lamb, Theme from Symphony No. 9 as well as some original works by the author which are written in international styles such as Rio Carnavale (Rio de Janeiro), Merengue Cariboo (The Bahamas) and many more. Ideal for the preparatory guitar student.
